Our first impressions of London included wonderfully crisp air, quaint neighborhoods, beautiful parks, and… freaking expensive everything. After spending months in Central America spending maybe $50 a day, the prices for everything in London seem astronomical. Luckily, we became connected to the travel community CouchSurfing and, suddenly, all became affordable and much more interesting in our world on the road.
Yesterday we made our way to the beautiful neighborhood of Chiswick to shack up with our new London friend Niell and another couch surfer, Kaspers, from Latvia. It has been great to have a place to crash (for f-r-e-e) and friendly people to take us under their wing and show us the ways of the world London. Having an actual home to crash in, as opposed to a random hostel, eases the slight pangs of homesickness I get here and there as well. We are so looking forward meeting many new friends through this new wave of surfing in our lives!
